§ 5 Cookies Mechanism, IP Address

  1. The Website uses small files called “cookies.” They are saved by Pellicarnos S.A. via the Website on the computer of a person visiting the Website, if the web browser allows it. A cookie file usually contains the domain name it comes from, its “expiry time,” and an individual, randomly selected number identifying this file. Information collected through such files helps tailor the services offered by Pellicarnos S.A. to the individual preferences and actual needs of visitors to the Website. It also makes it possible to compile general statistics on views of information presented on the Website.
  2. Pellicarnos S.A. uses first-party cookies for analysis, research, and audience measurement, in particular to create anonymous statistics that help understand how Users use the Website, which enables improvements to its structure and content.
  3. The cookies mechanism is safe for Users’ computers. In particular, it does not allow viruses or other unwanted or malicious software to enter Users’ computers. Nevertheless, Users can limit or disable cookies on their computers in their browsers. If this option is used, using the Website will still be possible, except for functions that by their nature require cookies.
  4. Pellicarnos S.A. may collect your IP addresses. An IP address is a number assigned to the computer of a person visiting the Website by their internet service provider. An IP number enables access to the Internet. In most cases, it is assigned to the computer dynamically, i.e., it changes with each connection to the Internet, and is therefore commonly treated as non-personal identifying information. Pellicarnos S.A. uses the IP address when diagnosing technical problems with the server, creating statistical analyses (e.g., determining from which regions we record the most visits), as information useful in administering and improving the Website, as well as for security purposes and possible identification of undesirable automatic programs burdening the server by browsing the content of the Website.
  5. The Website contains links and references to other websites. Pellicarnos S.A. is not responsible for the privacy practices applicable there. For this reason, we encourage you—after navigating from the Website to a site managed by another administrator—to read the privacy policy adopted there.
